The creators of the perfume were inspired by Victor Hugo's poem "What Two Horsemen Were Thinking in the Forest," specifically the dialogue about the suffering of the living and the happiness of the dead, at the beginning of which the author utters the phrase:
"My companion Hermann already seems to me a shadow."
(Hermann a mes cotes me paraissait une ombre)
With whom does the lyrical hero converse? With his companion Hermann or with himself? This fragrance is a melancholic-mysterious ode to the shadow that accompanies every person and at the same time serves as their alter ego.
Top notes: Black Pepper, Galbanum, Black Currant
Heart notes: Incense, Geosmin, Rose
Base notes: Vetiver, Patchouli, Ambroxan
